Anna Street

So today I thought I would share with you all a little purse shop I found out in Portland Maine. Anna Street makes custom purses and bags in a multitude of fabrics. I got the chance to visit her shop and create my own purse while in Portland this past summer. You can come in and buy one of the premade bags that are out or you can custom make your own. I got my purse in about 4weeks but it all depends on the season and demand. You can also host purse parties where you can bring your friends (or BM's!!) in and create your own purses, bags, or clutches. They would be perfect to give as gifts for your BM's and they could use them at the wedding to carry around those much needed emergancy items.

Say Cheese!

Having the week off has given me a lot of time for research. Today I have spent most of my time dedicated to finding a photographer for our engagement photos. Many wedding packages come with an engagement session included but because we will be doing a destination wedding we needed to find someone closer to home just for the engagement session. After looking at photographer after photographer I think I have found the winner. Amy Carroll, check out her blog she just started with fellow photographer Jen from JK Photography.

Amy's style is very fresh and casual. I like that there is an element of fun to all of her photos. Here are a few examples of her engagement photos:

I thought this engagment photo was so cute

I am getting really excited about our engagement photos because we are planning to use one of the images for our save the dates. It also doesnt help that I am finding a ton of cute clothes at J.Crew this season that are perfect for engagement photos! Here are a few of my favorite pieces from J.Crew's newest collection:

A New Leaf

Here is one of the places we are looking at for our reception site. We are trying to find a place that is easily accessible for everyone and also encompasses D & I's love of big cities, water, and nature. We also knew we wanted to do a destination wedding, Destination in the sense that we wanted a smaller, casual family affair where everyone could relax and enjoy themselves and each other while they are there. It has been so hard to find something that has everything we want (I truthfully don't think it exist...) but from pictures I think it is pretty close. It has the exposed brick which is my signature element in almost all of my designs and it also seems like it is a blank slate that I can put my stamp on and make it truly D & I. We won’t know for sure until we go visit in a couple of week. What do you think??

Leave some feedback for me :)

The sun came out today! I am so ready for this dreadful winter weather to be over.

I am in love with Jonathan Adler and have been even more since visiting his studio in San Fran. Here are some images of his pottery that I love. D and I have been talking about how to incorporate a few of them into the wedding so let me know if you have any ideas!

I also love this idea for using our initials!

Inspiration Board

Lately I have been searching for inspiration for a "theme" or over all feel I want for the wedding. I came across a board from Snippet and Ink that I absolutly love.

It has the waterfront preppy & casual feel that I want, now all it needs is a little pink in it :)

Brand New

Ok so this is my first time writing a "blog" but I thought it would be a great way to keep in touch with friends and family. I will include the daily happenings of my life as well as anything design and wedding related. Keep checking back for more!
